We know its not HR news………….

But we are very proud of Jane and it is all about raising money for @wearenugent

On Saturday night we gathered in the ‘ballroom’ at St. George’s Hall Liverpool to watch all the keen dancers with their professional partners perform at Strictly Nugent 2018.

Jane and her professional partner Mike Manning performed the Quickstep and were praised by the judges for the beautiful choreography. Plus, each of the four judges awarded them a perfect 10.

So after all the dance couples had finished the judges deliberated and announced ‘the winner is……….Jane Caven’

Once all the celebrations had died down, I managed to get a quick interview with Jane and ask her a few questions:
How much training did you have to do?

More than I first imagined…the thing about not having danced before is that you don’t know what you don’t know. When you see dancers performing they make it seem so easy that it is a bit of a shock when you actually start to learn. Having said that, it is more about general fitness training (especially core fitness) that takes up the time rather than the dancing itself.

Why did you want to do it?

Two reasons for wanting to do it. The first and most obvious is to help Nugent who really do terrific work with a wide range of people in need.

Secondly, because I have always wanted to learn to dance (and still do!).

Will you keep dancing?

Yes. I am currently looking for a local class.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of doing it next year?

Go for it and relish every moment. Also, take full advantage of the fact that while you are in training, you can eat pies and donuts without gaining weight.  Result! 😋
